Very handsome man.

I came to the conclusion that he might be a cocker-collie cross, because of those legs.

Taken last Sunday, this cute photo of our Ben just melts my heart.

And what exactly is he doing? He's in an old pram that beloged to my Auntie when she was little, which was found at a jump before that - so who knows how old it is! I taught him to sit in the pram first, then to put his paws up on the back edge. To keep him calm I said "Pram" (Ha! It rhymes!) and gave him a treat. He stayed there for a good while which surprised me.

Just what you do when it's 7:55 in the morning and you are waiting for your Dad to finish his tea.

Poor Ben. Having me as a mum must be very annoying.

We got Maya in 2006 from Ireland from the Bordercollierescue. At that time they thought she was a Border Collie. In Germany, people said that she is a small Munsterlander. Today I know that she is a Sprollie. Enjoy the pictures!

What his owner had to say...

Hi,

Here are a few pictures of our Sprollie (at least we think he's a
Sprollie but noone knows for certain what he's made up of, the most the
vets will say is Collie cross) called Oli (Short for Olimar, name from a
Nintendo game, picked by our son). We got him a few weeks ago from a
SSPCA centre. We think that he might have some more breeds in him then
just Collie and Spaniel but he's a cracking little thing (he's about 6
months old). He likes to try to keep up with our Blue Merle Collie
Merlin, but Merlin is rather a big boy and a few months older so he
struggles but enjoys trying!

This is my Sprollie called Ollie, he is 2 years old, he is a very nervous little boy with bad behaviour all the time. He is a beautiful little boy though. When he was 10 month old he decided he wanted to eat a 10 pound note :) So we at time now call him naughty Ollie or Ollie bear xx

We have a most fantastic 20 month old Sprollie called Aggie.

She’s a bundle of joy and would be so 24hrs a day if we could keep up with her.

She’s mad about sticks and balls and would recommend any owner to use a rubber stick called Safestix to avoid injury and stomach probs.

There’s something about Seamus…

FINALLY! I am back after a bit of a break… making this blog better than ever! I hope everyone loves the new design, based on that of Sheltie Nation (I hope they don’t mind…). But did you notice our new URL? We’ve ditched the sprollies.blogspot.com for a more professional sprollies.net – I hope you like that too!

But back to the main event.

This lovely fellow is Seamus.

There’s something funny about him… maybe a little Golden Retriever in there too?

Here’s what his owner had to say:

“Seamus is also a rescue from Ireland, we got him from the Diana Brimblecombe animal rescue centre in Berkshire (www.dbarc.org.uk/) nearly 3 years ago. He was a big bundle of stress and wasn’t at all socialised. He got expelled from his first dog training class and at one point we were close to sending him back as we couldn’t take him anywhere near a road. That would have been a huge error as he’s turned into a fantastic family dog. and likes nothing better than to wake us up in the mornings by climbing on the bed and lying on his back with his head on the pillow, waiting for a fuss. If he doesn’t get it then we get the nose lick.”

I think he is a Sprollie – and here’s the proof:

Adventures With Fly

This is Fly.

Here's what her owner has to say about her:

"Fly is six months old, and has been with me for two weeks. She was born on a farm but had a fear of livestock among other things, so was taken to Heavens Gate in Somerset, a National Animal Welfare Trust rescue centre. She was so scared at first it took a week to get her to walk, she crawled everywhere on her belly. She is gradually getting more confident thanks to living with an over confident springer spaniel, Poppy."

Magnificent Molly

This is Molly the Sprollie.

She's 5 years young and was adopted from Dog's Trust in Kenilworth in
late November 2010. Despite her incredible beauty and lovely
demeanour, she surprisingly resided at the centre for 14 long months
and was so popular amongst staff there that she had a 10 member
strong 'goodbye committee' upon her departure with us. The kennel's
team of workers were so happy to see her go to a loving new home that
tears were shed as Molly made her way to our car (and her new life in
the capital). This is a testament to the amazing work that Dog's
Trust do both at Kenilworth and at their centres across the UK.

Originally from Ireland, hence her Shamrock shaped dog-tag, Molly is
now loving her new life in London and has brightened up our house
considerably.

She is a bundle of energy and greets us each morning with "Sprollie
Talk" which, slowly but surely, we're actually starting to
understand. Super affectionate, athletic and quite eccentric - Molly
is our very first Sprollie and we simply cannot imagine life without
her.

The Border Collie/Spaniel Cross is a fantastic combination and we've
become regular visitors to the Sprollies are for Sharing Blog as a
result.

Keep up the good work.

The Sprollies of Flickr: Jelly

This the the rather adorable Jelly, and this is her story (kindly typed out by her owner):

Jelly (originally Jenny but renamed because she trembled so much) is thought to be about 4 years old. We rehomed her from the Dogs Trust (Snetterton) two and a half years ago, taking on the biggest project ever!

She was rescued from a traveller's site in Ireland, aged around 18 months, having been kept tethered, underfed and mistreated since birth. She was one of a litter of four or five but only she and her sister survived. When we got her she had never been in a house or a car, never been walked on a lead and was so petrified of everything that she had to be delivered to us by the D T's behaviourist rather than being collected.

Two and a half years on, having had another dog to follow and take confidence from (not to mention a ton of patience, love and TLC), she's a different girl. She's still very wary of movement and of people but full of mischief, bounce and excitement. She's a real joy to have around and keeps Tig, our Whiffie (WhippetxStaffie) on his toes, loving him dearly but never letting him forget that she's the boss now!

We rescued Tippy when he was about a year and a half old. He was abused in his first home and his second owners moved away. Even at nine he has the same amount of spunk he has always had. He loves to go hiking, cross country skiing, camping, biking and many other things. He must be part fish because he loves chasing sticks and rocks in the water. In fact, he loves the water so much we have troubles getting him out. He is friendly with all animals and people. He sometimes gets jealous if people are petting other dogs and gives their hand a nose flick. He can do many tricks, such as rolling over, shaking left and right paws, begging, play dead, and speak.
